Borrego Community Homes
BCB is building 150 to 200 attainable homes in Borrego Springs, a community of just over 3,000 residents. Each home is designed to lower long-term living costs with full built-in solar, battery storage, and a straw-bale wall system. The groundbreaking for the first model home was held on August 27 in the Deep Well neighborhood of Borrego.
Golf Cottages (Phase 1A)
Four single-story, Spanish Revival–style cottages designed as short-term rentals for golf guests. They feature straw bale insulation, a microgrid electrical connection and locally sourced subcontractors.
Microgrid Grant
The Borrego Springs Microgrid Collaborative, co-led by Rams Hill, has applied for $14M in state funding to develop a community-based renewable energy microgrid. If selected, the project will be part of BCB’s work to enhance energy resilience for critical facilities and at-risk households.
Borrego Springs Resort
Rams Hill recently acquired the Borrego Springs Resort, with future plans to balance water sustainability with responsible land use, tourism growth and local job creation.
Public Art
BCB recognizes that along with the stability that comes from homeownership and improvements to energy and water resources, public art is also a key component to improved quality of life in Borrego Springs.
